My Current Obsession: Ringly

Disclaimer: This post is not sponsored by Ringly. I paid for this with my own money and all opinions are my own. I just want the rest of you to drink the kool-aid.

I don't remember where I first heard about Ringly, but I'm glad that I did. As a new mom, especially with having Teacup Human in daycare, I am constantly checking my phone. Is she sick? Do they need me to come pick her up and I missed their call? Was that my phone that vibrated or was is the my coworker's phone? You get the idea.

Enter Ringly. This piece of smart technology is a Heaven sent. Accordingly to Ringly this technology is "smart jewelry that keeps you active, mindful, and in the moment." Not only does it come in a variety of styles, but it's cute! Don't get me wrong, FitBit has come a long way in cute technology wear, but it's still steps behind Ringly.

Ringly comes in three forms: Ringly Luxe Smart Bracelet (six styles), Ringly Luxe Smart Ring (six styles), and Ringly Go (two styles).

https://ringly.com/collections/shop
Ringly.com

Originally I had wanted a ring, and part of  me still does, but unfortunately the only styles that were available in the size I wanted were gold. Nothing against gold jewelry, but I'm not a fan. So I waited and waited for the silver rings to come back in stock in my size.

This did not happen. However, in the mist of my waiting they released their Ringly Go bracelets. Ringly Go comes in two colors: Black/Black and White/Blush.

Beautiful. Simple.

I snatched up the White/Blush option and I love it. It arrived quickly, about two days, and I was able setup my alerts while the bracelet charged.

The app, available for both iOS and Android, is where you set everything up. I only have mine setup for texts and phone calls, but they support a crazy amount of apps. There are four different vibrations and five color options (six if you count no color), so the possibilities are almost endless.

I set mine up so a text buzzes twice and a phone call buzzes four times, but neither flash a color. One of my favorite features is the ability to set up certain contacts to flash an additional color. My husband flashes green, my family blue, daycare purple, and some VIP friends red. This is especially helpful when I'm in a meeting, out to lunch, talking with friends, etc.

I was in a meeting the other day and my phone buzzed twice, but there was no color so I just left my phone in my pocket. No worries. Turns out it was a Redbox code and how professional would I have looked peaking at my phone for a free DVD code? (No offense, Redbox!) Another day I was out to lunch with coworker and my phone buzzed four times and flashed purple. Teacup Human was in need, so I pulled my phone from my pursue and answered.

Ringly also comes with two additional features: Stay Active and Stay Mindful. Stay Active tracks your steps, the distance you have traveled, as well as calories burned. That last bit of information is enhanced if you enter your height and weight under settings. If you have an iPhone you can also connect it to your Health app for more accurate information.

Stay Mindful is a new feature that walks you through guided meditation and breathing exercise. I myself have used the "Mid-Day Recess" quite a bit. These meditations are great ways to just distress in the middle of the workday and remind yourself to just breath.

The battery only lasts about two days, maybe less if you have more notifications, which is considerably less than other pieces of wearable technology but doesn't bother me in the slightest. I charge my phone every night so I just plug my Ringly in at the same time.

I'm not sure what the range is, maybe 30-ish feet, but you can setup an "Out of Range Alert" so if you move too far from your phone, it will buzz seven times. There is also a "Low Battery Alert" and "Sleep Mode" (if your Ringly isn't moving, it goes into sleep mode to conserve battery).

Overall, I'm incredibly pleased with Ringly. They have designed cute wearable tech and if you're the kind of person who loves to accessorize, you can link multiple devices with your app. Maybe you're feeling the ring one day, but the bracelet the next.

And lucky for you, I happen to have the ability to give you 10% off! Just click the following link, sign up, and receive 10% off your first purchase: http://fbuy.me/fKpmn. Trust me, you won't be sorry!

Mishibox - March Box Review | Korean Beauty Subscription Box

Today, I am back with yet another Mishibox review! I got the March box a while back, but didn't get a chance to post about it before.  Here's a look at the products that were included in March!

MSHIBOX is a brand new monthly beauty subscription box that delivers hand-picked, top-quality Korean beauty products straight to your door! Every (adorable) box comes with a combination of 4-6 sample-size and full-size products. It can be anything from skincare to makeup and all the amazing things in-between.

The cost of this monthly subscription box is simply unbeatable - $19.95!!! And, amazingly, you can choose to subscribe for the entire year (and save $12), or buy one box at a time. And they now offer FREE world wide shipping.

I would highly recommend giving this awesome subscription box a try. The products you get are pretty high-end and very popular in Asia, plus you won't be able to get some of them anywhere else in the USA or Canada.

MISHIBOX folks also opened up an online store where you can buy any of the products previously included in the box. Personally, I love that option, as I love one of the products included in the past boxes (The Ceramizing Cream from Skin Watchers) and was super happy that I was able to order a second batch of it!

What's in the box?!

* Featured in this photo are two more products that weren't included in the box, but which I bough on the Mishibox website in addition to the box (The Aloe skin toner, Ceramizing Cream), Blueberry mask, Skymilk and two cream samples were included as a bonus.

The June 2015 box included:

  Enzyme Powder Wash from @skin_watchers_shop
 | full size

My thoughts: I really like using it. It's something I've never used before and it took a couple of times to get used to it, but I love the deep clean and almost scrub-feeling it offers. It leaves my face feeling very fresh and clean. It's a product I would buy again for sure!

Graymelin Foot butter | full size

My thoughts: Living in high desert can take its toll on your skin, especially your feet and elbows, so this was just the perfect product for me. I actually ordered one of those from the Mishibox store, not knowing it would be included in the box, but no regrets there. It's a thick cream that moisturizes amazingly and smells divinely (like butterscotch candy). I definitely recommend it!

Fascy Moisture Bomb Hand Cream | full size
My thoughts: I don't use hand cream very often, as I work on my computer a lot and just don't like the greasy feeling of them, so I haven't been using this one a whole lot, but it smells really nice and seems to moisturize well. If you're into hand creams, I think this line might be worth giving a try!

Monthly New Feet socks pack | full size

My thoughts: Haven't used it yet, but I love the concept! These are socks that you sleep in, that exfoliate and regenerate your skin. I am waiting for some colder days to try these out, but they sound awesome!

Pure Green Tea Whitening Mask | full size

My thoughts: I love Korean sheet masks. That is all.

Package Melt Me Softly Blackheads Nose Pack

My thoughts: Haven't used this one yet, either, but from my experience, all the products designed to help remove the black heads are wonderful. I've tried a couple of them, and while I don't have blackheads myself, they do help clear your skin a lot and exfoliate any sort of gunky stuff that might be hiding in your pores.

Japanese Antique Journal (Review + Giveaway)

I recently got an opportunity to review a beautiful Japanese Journal with antique style binding on Amazon, and today, I am very excited to share my review with you guys! I also get to host an awesome giveaway for 5 Japanese Journals / Drawing Books (of your choice), so be sure to enter to win at the bottom of this post!

The Deer of Nara - Showing the life of deers in the traditional Japanese city, Nara. The spine of the book is bound by Archaic Style of Far East, Japanese Binding. The Advantage is that the book can be opened throughly and the spine will not obstruct your hand writing. Moreover, it is far more beautiful that conventional spiral binding books in exterior.
My thoughts:

I really like this little sketchbook/journal. Unlike some of the other notebooks sold by this company, this one is more of a journal than just a sketchbook.

It's divided into a few section: about 40 pages of a typical journal-style agenda where you can mark the date and write down short daily entries, about 30 pages of dark brown paper that feels just a bit thinner than the other pages (not as thin as a copy paper, though, it's not see-through at all), a good amount of clear off-white pages that can be used for drawings or sketches, some pages for notes - some of them lined, some grid.

The quality of the paper is very nice. It's smooth and even if you use gel pens or markers, nothing bleeds through to the other side. I love the art on the cover, and the unique style of binding. It's beautiful and kind of vintage looking. Very pretty. I also love the size - it's perfect for carrying with you in your backpack or purse. And finally, thanks to the special binding, the notebook opens completely flat without breaking the spine, so it's really nice for writing long entries or sketching something.

Overall, I'm happy with the quality of this product and completely in love with the look of it!
Disclaimer: I received a free sample of the product in exchange for my honest review.

Bookish Product Review: Jane's Tiny Things Magnetic Bookmarks (p2)

Hey guys!

You might recall the first time I posted about Jane's Tiny Things bookmarks few months ago. Today I'm back with round two of the feature and I have some absolutely marvelous new bookmarks to show you!

Over the past couple of years, I have become a self-proclaimed bookmark hoarder. I don't really use them - ha! They're way too pretty for that :D But I do collect them, because they're unique and bookish and just oh-so-lovely! And like I said before, out of all the Etsy stores, Jane's Little Things is probably the most unique, because her creations are hand-drawn and very different in style. AND - most importantly - they come with a quote on the back! How amazing is that?!

I love Jane's bookmarks so much, but they're not the only thing you can find in Jane's Tiny Things store. Jane also makes these amazing sets of hand-drawn nail decals, and I think the one with books and feathers is my favorite one by far!

Anyhoo! Without further ado, let's take a look at the new bookmarks in Jane's store - I have two sets of them to show you today! :)

The Night Court set
A super hot item right now (and, well, always!). I posted a photo of these on my Bookstagram and it got some crazy love, because HELLO, Rhysand and Feyre!

I really love these! They're so cute and unique, you guys! Jane did an amazing job drawing the characters yet again, and she picked great quotes for the back of the bookmarks, too!

The Rhysand one has our favorite ACOMAF quote: "To The Stars Who Listen and The Dreams That Are Answered." and Feyre says: "II was a Survivor, I was strong. I would not, could not be Broken."

Baker Street Set - Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson
The Sherlock and Watson bookmarks are right on point, you guys! So quirky and spot on with all the details!

The Sherlock one says: "To a Great Mind nothing is Little." and the Watson one says: "Good old Watson! You are the one Fixed Point in a  Changing Age."  Again, Jane picked awesome quotes. I love taking photos of these, they go so well with my edition of Sherlock Holmes from Rock Paper Scissors!

All the bookmarks in Jane's store can be purchased separately, or in a set. The single bookmarks cost $4 and if you buy them as a set it's $7 for 2 bookmark set and $10.50 for 3 bookmark set. Some of them are very popular and already on back order! And no wonder, really, because they're gorgeous and so unique!

And if you'd like to stock up on the sheer awesomeness, use code: EVIEBOOKISH to get 15% off!
About Jane's Tiny Things:

Bookish Product Review: Authored Adornments Bookish Jewelry (p2)

I'm here today to talk about one of the most amazing Etsy stores that sells stunning book-inspired jewelry and bookmarks - Authoroed Adornments! As you already know, I am extremely lucky to be one of the reps for this store, which means every month I get two of Julie's gorgeous pieces for Instagram features, but because I love Julie and her creations so much, I also want to spotlight her store on the blog! This is the second feature - to see the first one click here.

For the month of May, I picked the Alice in Wonderland inspired necklace in silver, and the gorgeous Raven ring. I'll talk about them in more detail below!

Without further ado, please welcome Authored Adornments!

Alice in Wonderland Necklace
Oh how I love Alice in Wonderland inspired stuff - especially beautiful jewelry! Julie's pieces are just heart-stopping. I absolutely love her works and wish I could have the entire collection
This Alice in Wonderland inspired necklace in silver comes with a mini heart pendant and a beautiful ornamental frame. You can also get it in a simple-style version, which looks just as lovely! And like most of Julie's jewelry pieces, it comes in 2 colors - silver and bronze.
You can buy it in 3 different chain lengths, too! The quality of the print is amazing and the glass orb looks so beautiful. This is my favorite Alice merch by far!
This beautiful ring inspired by Edgar Allan Peo's The Raven comes in 3 colors (shiny silver, gunmetal and antique bronze),and because of its unique construction, it's fully adjustable to a perfect fit.

As a huge Poe fan, I just couldn't pass up the opportunity to own a piece of jewelry inspired by one of his amazing works. This ring is so beautiful, guys! And the simple two words (or rather one word split into two glass orbs) give me the feels!!! Such a beautiful, simple yet powerful design. A must have for any Poe enthusiast!!!
On another note, the ring is very solid and seems super sturdy. It doesn't bend easily, so you can easily do chores while wearing it (I know I do, because I don't want to take it off). I also love the fact that the size is adjustable, so I can even wear it on my thumb if I'm feeling extra fancy. I'm giving this ring two thumbs up! :D
In addition to an already rich assortment of bracelets, earrings, necklaces, rings and bookmarks, Julie from Authored Adornments also takes requests for specific quotes. She is amazing to work with, so don't hesitate to reach out to her via social media or the Etsy contact form.

Bookish Product Review: Authored Adornments (Necklace and Bracelet)

Today, I have the huge pleasure of featuring an amazing Etsy store that sells stunning book-inspired jewelry and bookmarks. I am extremely lucky to be one of the reps for this store, which means every month I get two of their gorgeous pieces for Instagram features, but because I love Julie and her creations so much, I also want to spotlight her store on the blog!

For the month of April, I picked the Alice in Wonderland inspired vintage bracelet in bronze, and the lovely Wuthering Heights necklace. I'll talk about them in more detail below!

Without further ado, please welcome Authored Adornments!

Alice in Wonderland Bracelet
This is one of the prettiest vintage-looking bracelets I've seen! The bronze cuff gives this bracelet a lovely warm, classic feel and I absolutely love the ornamental accents. Inside the glass orb, there is a quote from Alice in Wonderland:
"The players all played at once without waiting for turns, quarrelling all the while, and fighting for the hedgehogs; and in a very short time the Queen was in a furious passion, and went stamping about, and shouting `Off with his head!' or `Off with her head!' about once in a minute."
I've been wearing this bracelet on multiple occasions and haven't notice any signs of wear so far, although it did catch my clothing a couple of times ( on the swirly ornamental parts), but nothing tore or broke off, so I'm not too worried about that.
Overall, I am in love with this new piece of bookish jewelry. It's so beautiful and so nicely made, plus the "Off with her head!" quote is one of my favorite ones from Alice.

This beautiful necklace inspired by Wuthering Heights comes in 2 styles (simple and ornate) and 2 colors (silver and bronze), and you can also pick the length of the chain when you order it (18, 20 and 24 inches).
The quote that is placed inside the glass orb is:
"Nelly, I am Heathcliff! He's always, always in my mind: not as a pleasure, any more than I am always a pleasure to myself, but as my own being."
I got the 18 inch chain length and it's perfect for me. It puts the pendant exactly where I want it to be, just underneath my collarbone.
Just like with the Alice in Wonderland bracelet, the ornate style of this necklace looks gorgeous in the bronze color, giving off a lovely vintage vibe. I often wear these two pieces of jewelry together, because they almost look like a set. Plus, I think this particular style is just perfect for Wuthering Heights. It's super elegant and classic feeling!

In addition to an already rich assortment of bracelets, earrings, necklaces, rings and bookmarks, Julie from Authored Adornments also takes requests for specific quotes. She is amazing to work with, so don't hesitate to reach out to her via social media or the Etsy contact form.
