Rescued by a stranger.
Haunted by a secret
Sometimes, love isn't easy...

He watched her, but never knew her. Until thanks to a chance encounter, he became her savior...

The attraction between them was undeniable. Yet the past he'd worked so hard to overcome, and the future she'd put so much faith in, threatened to tear them apart.

Only together could they fight the pain and guilt, face the truth - and find the unexpected power of love.

A ground breaking novel in the New Adult genre, Easy faces one girl's struggle to regain the trust she's lost, find the inner strength to fight back against an attacker, and accept the peace she finds in the arms of a secretive boy.

Keeping my attention on the lecture and defying the compulsion to peek over my shoulder was excruciating.  I was sure I feLucas's eyes boring into the back of my head.  Like an out-of-reach itch, the sensation nettled me for fifty minutes straight, and it took herculean effort to refrain from turning around.
This was the moment for me to say Stay, but I couldn't.
His mouth was demanding, his lips parting mine, tongue driving into my mouth.  I thought I felt a tremor move through him when my hand gripped the place on his side where the words were inscribed.
"Stop," I whispered, not meaning it, not wanting it, and he shuddered and removed his hand from me.  Curling my hands between our chests, I didn't move away, I didn't speak.  I just lay in his arms for long minutes, until his breathing slowed, finally becoming deep and even.

    Nothing is ever Easy...

I have an addiction when it comes to New Adult novels.  They aren't something that I pick up one after another because they are to be savoured.  Like a quality piece of chocolate; you don't chase it with anything you just enjoy it while you have it.  Easy was beautiful in its own rights and had a strong heart to it.  Webber pulled together something original and wonderfully written.  I was pulled in and will admit that I had no desire to fight the pull from the first page on.

I believe that the allure to New Adult is that it feels so real.  There is no perfect couple, coming from perfect backgrounds.  What I liked about this book was that the issues weren't up front and center... Well at least not right away.  There is a meaning to the meeting of the two characters and although it was not ideal, it linked the two together.  This is not saying that it was an immediate attraction, but more a connection that would not be forgotten.  Ideally the happening that caused their first meeting would be the only issue that ever arose, but it wasn't.  There was something brewing just beneath the surface and although I could sense it and had an idea, I was not clear on the problems that would arise from it.  With everything going on and everything that wasn't Webber had the grace to pull it into something that flowed wonderfully and turned at all of the right moments.

Jacqueline wasn't perfect, but who is?  I think to start I found myself slightly disappointed in her choice, but also realize that it is a decision that many girls make.  Despite this I did find her a smart girl.  My heart went out to her for following the boy she loved, only to be stomped on.  However, it is a learning experience that brings her more than she could have imagined.  She also has the strength to do what she knows is right when it needs to be done.  Through her shame and desire to forget, she learns to defend herself and realizes that this has touched more than her.  I admittedly had a few laughs on her and Lucas' behalf during the learning to protect herself, but she came out of it stronger.

Now that I have mentioned Lucas, we might as well go there.  I don't know if I would say he is your typical bad boy or not.  He is each side of the same coin really.  There is no doubt that he likes Jacqueline, but it is obvious that there are blocks.  Do I know what these are?  Absolutely and I did fairly early on (for the most part), but I can't share that because it would ruin so much for you.  However, you should know that he is an odd kind of knight in shining armour... He is the guy that you could honestly see on a black horse riding in tattoo's blazing...  Okay not quite but he is what Jacqueline needs, even if she can't see it.  Actually, she is what he needs as well but nothing is ever easy, or at least anything worth it.

As far as New Adult goes, it was beyond easy (no pun intended) to love this book.  Between the spectacularly written characters and the authors gorgeous writing style, it is no wonder that this book received so much praise.  I also now look forward to getting my hands on Breakable because I just know that it will be all kinds of amazing!  Pick this book up if you are a fan of new adult and if you are new to the genre this is a perfect place to start!
