Originally, I scheduled a review of Cress by Marissa Meyer for today. But then I got to thinking - Cress was released 43 days ago. Just 43 days. And while the barrage of Cress reviews had dropped significantly, it wasn't that long ago that they were popping up on blogs (almost) daily.
Whenever there is a big release for a popular book/series/author coming up, I see reviews days before, day of, and days after the release date. If you're one of the lucky ones that gets an ARC I can see the advantage of posting your review just before or day of the release. But for those of us who do not get an ARC, is it worth it to post a review around the release date - will our readers read them or skip them because they have already read X amount of reviews for this book? Or should we wait a couple months to post our thoughts?
I'm not saying one way or another is the best way to go. Each blogger is different and whatever works for you, works for you. I'm not here to judge or say the way you handle new releases is right or wrong, I'm just curious from a readers standpoint. If you read X amount of reviews for a new release within a week/month/whatever, is that X+1 really going to make a difference?
Or is it more of an you're curious as to what this certain reviewer has to stay about this book because every bodies opinions are different, so you'll read all the reviews regardless of time period in between each?
What's your opinion? As a blogger (if you are one)? As a reader? Do you want to read all the reviews of new releases that you can or is it better if they're spaced out?
