Somewhere between falling and flying… you will find the truth.

The truth is being unveiled and Iris’ past is unlike anything she ever could have guessed. For Stryx, finding your missing half doesn’t always mean finding your mate. Iris has been missing a part of herself for so long that no one is sure she will be able to put the pieces back together and her ever reliable dreams may be forcing her astray. Coping with the death of someone she loved, she is forced to face the truth and break free from the lies that have caged her.

"You know I'm always with you, no matter what," Falcon said from her side.
Falcon whispered against her hair, combing his fingers through the bits falling in front of her eyes and slowly drawing it back behind her ears, away from the tears now soaking his chest. He moved closer, pulling her onto his lap. With her head on his chest, he wrapped his arms around her, holding her, desperate to make her pain go away. There was nothing he could do now except be what she needed him to be--strong.
"I really do, you know," Falcon continued.
"Do?" Iris asked.
"Love you," Falcon said and Iris felt every part of her body leaning toward him. She allowed her world to fall away, just for a moment.

I'm always cautious when jumping into sequels, especially when I liked the first book. Because I'm a sequel-phobe. But I do it anyway, and with high hopes. Because I'm just trusting like that. I really liked the first book in the Society of Feathers series, Owlet. It was sweet and interesting, and I really looked forward to diving into the next book. SO THEN I DID. I read Eyrie. And it was so good! I liked it just as much as--if not more than--the first book.

The biggest thing that stands out in this story is how unique it is. With the souls and half-souls and birds, and goodness. So many things. I just think it's immensely cool and relentlessly interesting. My attention remained wrapped up in Eyrie from beginning to end. There were some surprises and there were some sweet moments, and I loved them both equally.

I adore these characters. Falcon is my #1, no doubt about it. From the moment we met him in Owlet, I was head over heels, but he just keeps getting BETTER. I don't know how it's possible, but he does and I love him for it. He's there for Iris 100% through everything and that warms me to him endlessly. Iris herself isn't too bad, and I actually like that her character has asthma. That's not something we see in an MC every day, so yay for changing it up! She's not perfect, but she is improving, and I can respect that. All the other characters in this series help to make up a nice, big, happy family, and I like that. It's so nice.

The romance in this book is sweet as all get out. As I said, Falcon has a place in my heart. He earned it. Falcon and Iris together makes me feel incredibly happy, and I always look forward to their cute little moments together. He wasn't overbearing to her, and she wasn't standoffish to him. When they needed each other, they were there. They were IN. And I freaking LOVED that.

Overall, Eyrie is a great sequel to follow up Owlet. I adore Falcon, and certainly look forward to reading more of these characters and where their story goes in the third book in this series, which I will definitely be picking up. If you're searching for a unique, cute story that is both interesting and warms your heart, I definitely recommend the Society of Feathers series.

Somewhere between falling and flying… there is a girl.

Iris has a secret. She lost her memory eight years ago and never told a living soul. After an asthma attack one night she finds out that her dreams of a strange house on a snowy island may be a memory resurfacing but the more she learns about the past the more she realizes the life she has been living is a lie. As the façade her father has built starts to crumble around her she will have to decide which means more to her; the truth or her life.

Emma Michaels is the author of the ‘A Sense of Truth’ and ‘Society of Feathers’ series.
