“Forget what you thought you knew about this story, because everything is about to change."

With Alyssa near death, Luke, Jacob and their companions make a desperate attempt to reach Boston with the final ingredient needed for the plague antidote. They must travel through the Canadian wilderness, some of the roughest country in North America. Along the way they are joined by new friends and old as they fight to reach their destination and save Alyssa. What they don’t know is that something is hunting them.
Something evil is lurking, waiting to strike when they least expect it.
After years of fighting courageously against the living plague, they’d thought they knew their enemy. They’d believed their wits, bravery and strength would be enough to win this fight against the threat that had overrun so much of the world they once knew. But they were wrong.
Now Luke, Risa, Jacob, DeAndre and Jonathan face their most dangerous trials yet as they battle the ever-present zombie threat, along with a new challenge they never saw coming. How many ways can this plague try to kill them? Find out, in the latest installment of the Mad World series.

“It had been a day since we'd returned after trying, unsuccessfully, to reach Boston. It had been a short trip, and a disastrous one. Caitlyn lay cold in the ground; we'd buried her this morning. My mother Alyssa lay unconscious in her bedroom upstairs, in an induced coma.It was an attempt to prolong the incubation period of the deadly illness that had infected her during yesterday's fight. Yesterday. It seemed like a hundred years ago. So much had happened in the last 36 hours."
“What's the infection situation in Thunder Bay?" Dad asked. Most of the people turned away without a word and walked off. One fellow, who seemed less nervous than the others, whispered, before turning halfway around to leave. "Wait a minute," Dad said, touching the man's arm. He turned back to look into Dad's eyes. Dad lowered his voice. Whispering, he said, "We just got into town. We are part of the Sanctuary rescue force. We want to know the infection situation in town. Can you fill us in?" He held the man's gaze and waited. "I can't get into things. They are watching us. I have my family to think of...."
“These zombies were different from the others.Glancing around the softly glowing walls of our prison, then down at Risa's sleeping form, I listened to the muffled sounds of the zombies outside and waited.

EXCITING. HEART POUNDING. EXHILARATING.

I was given an ARC by Samaire Provost/CLP Blog Tours in exchange for an honest review.

An amazing follow up in the nail biting zombie series, this book promises excitement and thrill and delivers over and over again. Non stop danger follows the Sanctuary Team as they battle one of the most difficult wars of their life. It is a race to save a loved one and a race to save the world.

Mad world: Desperation is the third installment in Samaire Provost's amazing zombie series. The earth has been taken over in all the major cities and the few people who are left are fighting for their lives constantly. Luke is the one human who might be able to help. He is a half human-half zombie because he was born right when his mother was going through the change from human to zombie. With his help and the help of the members of the Sanctuary team who fight the zombies with special training, the earth might just survive. But that is a very BIG IF.....

Samaire Provost tells each and every one of these fast paces novels expertly. She engages the reader by keeping the chapters short and to the point. With every turn of the page, you want more, you need more and your heart pounding emotion won't be satisfied till you see the ending. Her writing is flawless and in a story like this, that is necessary in order to hold the readers attention. She pulls you in one direction and then quickly pulls you the opposite way. I am looking forward to more books by Samaire Provost in the near future.

This third book in the Mad World series is a must read. Plus pick up the first two as well so you can see how they got to this point.
