Feature & Follow: Writing Reviews

The Feature & Follow is hosted by TWO hosts, Parajunkee of Parajunkee’s View and Alison of Alison Can Read. Each host will have their own Feature Blog and this way it’ll allow us to show off more new blogs!

How do you write your reviews?

Depends on the book. Some books I have so much to say that I just start typing and work it out from there - whether while writing or when I go back and makes sure it all makes sense. If I'm not entirely sure what to say (which could be a good thing or bad thing), I follow kind of an outline about point I want to make sure I talk about.

I write notes here and there while reading the book and then some once I finish so I make sure I include my initial feelings once I finish. Sometimes I write reviews with a few hours of finishing a book (like the next day) sometimes it takes me a while to get around to writing a review and my notes back no sense. I've had a lot of moments where I read a note I wrote and have no idea what I was going for or exactly what I meant, so I try not to wait too long before writing a review otherwise it turns out like this:

THIS BOOK IS AMAZING! READ IT NOW AND LOVE! FEEEEEEEEEEELS

or

IT WAS OKAY. THINGS HAPPENING, BUT NOTHING REALLY MEMORABLE. READ IT IF YOU WANT. I DIDN'T HATE IT.

Tell me - how do you write your reviews? You can follow us however you like, just make sure to leave me a comment below with a link to your blog so I can visit! :)
