In My Mailbox is a weekly meme hosted by Story Siren
The purpose of it is to post about the books we received during the past week (ARC, electronic galleys, books won in giveaways, bought or borrowed from the library - you can list anything you want!)
Here are the books I've received this week for reviews:
This girl is different… That’s what Evie has always told herself—and it’s true. Home-schooled by her counter culture mom, she’s decided to see what high school is like for the first time—for her senior year. And what a year it is.
As it turns out, it’s not just Evie who’s Different. Lots of people are. Many of her assumptions about others are turned on their heads as she makes friends with kids her own age for the first time, discovers what’s good and what’s bad about high school, and learns lessons about power and its abuse—both by the administration and by Evie herself. Can't wait to read this one! It's going to be so fun to read a book with a lead character having the same name as I do :)
It's always been just Kate and her mom--and now her mother is dying. Her last wish? To move back to her childhood home. So Kate's going to start at a new school with no friends, no other family and the fear her mother won't live past the fall.
Then she meets Henry. Dark. Tortured. And mesmerizing. He claims to be Hades, god of the Underworld--and if she accepts his bargain, he'll keep her mother alive while Kate tries to pass seven tests.
Kate is sure he's crazy--until she sees him bring a girl back from the dead. Now saving her mother seems crazily possible. If she succeeds, she'll become Henry's future bride, and a goddess.
If she fails.. (Goodreads)
I've read so many awesome reviews of this book that I really can't wait to read it myself. So excited!
Sixteen year old Carlo has no experience of the world. He desperately wants eternity to provide an alternative to the strict moral imperative of his Catholic parents. When Daizee Byatt, a girl from the other side of the tracks, crashes into Carlo's life, the course of his future veers off the road. This is the story of what Heaven Sent.
This one is supposedly a dark novel.. mm... Evie loves dark novels! Another book I can't wait to dive into :)
and last but not least at all, a fascinating non-fiction read:
Take your first step to becoming a Metaphysical Therapist! Integrated Intuition is your lantern in the dark, helping you learn how to awaken and understand your in born psychic abilities. Everyone is psychic, and Integrated Intuition will help you prove it to yourself!
I'm more of a fiction book person, but this one caught my attention and I'm intrigued by it's contents. It's next on my To Review List!
So this is all I got this week. All these books make my reader senses tingle in excitement :D Stay tuned for reviews! :)
